Are the taxis safe, and do they require a tip?

The taxi system in China is safe. Taxis are available in all major Chinese cities and can also be hired at hotels, train stations, and airports. They are relatively inexpensive, and the drivers are generally courteous. Brownell advises that you have your guide or hotel concierge write out your destination (in Chinese and English) and any other instructions for your driver. We also recommend that you carry a hotel name card (in Chinese and English) with you at all times when using a taxi. Gratuities are not necessary for Chinese taxi drivers.

Do I need a passport or visa to enter China?

All travelers entering China will actually need both a valid passport and a visa to enter the country. Your Brownell travel can help you obtain the correct visa.

China is such a large country, does the climate vary from place to place?
