Situated on Mallorca’s northwest coast, this secluded 1,000 acre estate of Son Bunyola boasts three stunning villas: Sa Punta de S’Aguila, Sa Terra Rotja and Son Balagueret. With five and four bedrooms respectively, these three villas are ideal for a relaxing week (or two) in the Mediterranean sun. Each villa has an outdoor pool, views over the sea and the surrounding mountains and both are perfectly placed to explore the varied landscapes and culinary offerings. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage site, the property offers a new hotel, two restaurants, a spa, beautiful outdoor swimming pool, and many outdoor activities such as biking, yoga, volleyball, and more to live out the dolce vita lifestyle.
The location is stunning, with both the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea right outside. The hotel is newly built, with 27 beautifully designed rooms and suites, and 3 luxurious standalone villas, all with their own private pool. The main hotel is built on the exact footprint of a 16th century Finca.
Their food centers around authentic Mallorcan dishes with a focus on farm-to-fork ethos. Much of the produce served in the hotel’s restaurants is grown in the estate gardens and orchards. All are paired with wines handpicked by the onsite sommelier. The hotel’s main restaurant, Sa Terrassa, has sweeping sea views, and highlights Mallorca’s fresh and authentic flavors of Mediterranean culture and cuisine. The second restaurant, Sa Tafona, is housed within the historic olive press, and features menus showcasing an exciting array of tapas, that accentuate the authentic flavors of the region.
Mallorca has long held a very special place in my heart since I first visited as a young boy with my Mum and Dad. It inspired me to help create a beautiful property in Deia many many years ago, and we turned it into a wonderful small family hotel. Over time it grew, so I sold the hotel and started looking for a new place to call home in Mallorca, and I was fortunate enough to discover something even more special – Son Bunyola.
With its three miles of unspoilt coastline, beautiful rugged shores, olive groves, vineyards and completely natural exquisite beauty in the untouched Tramuntana mountain range, our Son Bunyola estate is blessed with a very special location, miles of stunning walks and (as a keen cyclist) some of the best cycling in the world. It’s taken me over 20 years to get the planning permissions to meticulously restore and convert the stunning 16th century historic finca on our one-thousand-acre estate. It really was just waiting to be lovingly brought back to life as a small luxury boutique hotel and I’m excited for it to join our three beautiful villas which are already enjoyed by our guests.
Son Bunyola Hotel will open its doors to guests on June 16th and I’m hoping it will bring back the magic to those who can remember our original hotel from the early days. I’m so excited to be there in June to see what special magic our team have weaved into this spectacular historic finca, which will proudly join our Virgin Limited Edition collection.
